Roman Banquet at Holsworthy

In December Claudius Maximus was the star guest at Holsworthy pupils Roman banquet which was kindly hosted by the local hostelry The White Hart

St Michael's C of E Primary School
In Decenbe the soldiers at St Michael’s C of E School were immensely brave as they held their ground against a fierce band of Celts.

Inverteign Primary School

The soldiers at Inverteign School were determined to fight the Celts outside despite the inclement weather




Bratton Fleming Primary School

A large group of pupils at Bratton Fleming School near Barnstaple displayed excellent discipline when they engaged in a battle at very close quarters


Cold Aston Primary School

Roman Exeter visited Cold Aston School in Gloucestershire in November


On a bleak battlefield in the Cotswolds in late November the Roman army displayed its characteristic discipline and courage defeating yet another group of rebellious Celts


And under the command of Claudius Maximus the triumphant army return to their fortress.


Bow Primary School
Roman Exeter visited Bow Primary in November and despite the inclement weather some great battles were fought outside.

The marauding Celts were fierce opposition for the Roman army at Bow Primary School and they put up a good fight for 3 whole days


However the discipline and the skill of the Roman soldiers eventually paid off and another uprising was quashed






Rydon Primary School

Roman Exeter visited Rydon Primary School on a cold frost day in November but in the afternoon the sun shone and the Romans stood their ground and won a resounding battle against all odds


Holsworthy Primary School
Despite the awful weather the stalwart soldiers at Holsworthy Primary School defeated the Celts in great style


Bishops Tawton Primary School

Bishops Tawton Primary School hosted a Roman workshop in November and made full use of their colourful shields in the testudo

3 day visit by Roman Exeter to Bovey Tracey Primary School

In October Claudius Maximus spent 3 days at Bovey Tracey Primary School where the sun shone the whole time

Roman Exeter visited Hawkchurch Primary on 3rd October

Claudius Maximus delivered a workshop to all the pupils at Hawkchurch Primary School near Axminster on Wednesday 3rd October.




















Roman Exeter visits Woodford Junior School Plymouth 1st October 2007

Claudius Maximus made his annual visit to Woodford Junior School on Monday 1st October where the pupils had made their shields over the Summer holidays. In addition they had also made javelins and daggers.

Roman Exeter visits Gotherington Area Local History Society 22nd/23rd September 2007

Claudius Maximus from Roman Exeter was guest of honour at the 25 year jubilee of Gotherington Area Local History Society on 22nd and 23rd September. Many Roman artefacts were on display and people enjoyed the opportunity of engaging with a re-enactor legionary soldier from the 1st Century AD
